The curriculum at Rainbow House Children’s Centre takes into account the four principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage which states that:1. All children are unique and competent learners.
2. Children learn to be independent by building positive relationships.
3. The setting environment should be secure and support learning in every way
4. Children learn at different rates and all areas of learning are important and
inter-connected.

Well planned activities are the key to the way in which young children learn with enjoyment and challenge. As well as taking into account the interests and developmental needs of the children we plan our activities in accordance to the six main areas of learning of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, which are as follows: good behavior. They will be given support for their emotional well being to help them to know themselves and what they can do.Knowledge and Understand of the World Development:
Children are supported in developing the knowledge; skills and understanding that help them make sense of the world. The learning is supported by offering
opportunities for them to use a range of tools safely; encounter creatures, people, plants and objects in their natural environments and in real life situations;
undertake practical experiments and work with a range of materials. This forms the foundation for later work in science, design and technology, history, geography and ICT.Communication, Language and Literacy Development:
We will support and extend children’s learning and competence in communicating, speaking and listening, being read to and beginning to read and write. This will be done by encouraging the child to ask questions, comment on activities and recall experiences, telling stories, write shopping lists, making books etc.

Physical Development:
Physical development will be encouraged by providing opportunities for children to be active and interactive, to improve skills of coordination, control, manipulation and movement. Children will be supported to make use of their senses to learn about the world around them and to make connections between new information and what they already know. We encourage children to develop their understanding of healthy eating and how it has an impact on physical development.Knowledge and Understand of the World Development:
